Hyundai High Capacity Forklifts
Kinds of AC Forklifts
Low maintenance, efficiency in application and high power are all important features that should be taken into account in the busy material handling market these days. AC technology is ideally suited for indoor applications, particularly with its brushless features. This kind of forklift is virtually maintenance free and lets you concentrate on finishing the task.
Types
There are various kinds of AC forklifts that can meet and even surpass all your requirements. Design for indoor use provides low maintenance and reliable power. Some of the many types of high capacity forklifts offered by Hyundai are Electric Counterbalanced Lift Trucks, Tow Tractors/ Tuggers, Walkie Trucks, Very Narrow Aisle Turret Lift Trucks, Narrow Aisle Order Picker Lift Trucks and Electric Narrow Aisle Lift Trucks.
Function
AC or alternating current technology is energy efficient and more productive. These models are much more reliable and cost effective than the conventional DC or direct current technology. AC forklifts were meant to provide high power indoor applications. Usually, a battery of thirty six to eighty volts is used to obtain the power and torque required. The AC technology enables a longer time period in between recharging. This enables the forklift to be utilized for a longer time. In addition, the AC motors are enclosed completely and this reduces exposure and dust with no motor brushes, meaning much less maintenance and less sparking.
Advantages
Being able to eliminate your maintenance gives you much more time to concentrate on your visit and saves you some money. As discussed earlier, AC technology does not have motor brushes that also lowers maintenance and increases productivity. One more bonus is that AC motors have less components that are wearable resulting in savings on components and labor. AC motors are generally much quieter than DC motors and this helps increase operator awareness on the job site.
Manufacturers
Several manufacturers now offer AC power forklifts. Some of the available brands consist of Raymond, Hyundai, Hyster, Mariotti, and Yale.
Sideloaders have become a great choice for many companies needing to perform handling jobs on unusual cargo. Sales of these units are small though, taking up 1% to five percent of the global forklift market.
Sideloaders are rather common in the timber, aluminum, glass, steel, aviation and construction industries. Furthermore, they are utilized in industries which are making unusual items including windmill arms and moldings. Basically any industry which produces oversized long or awkward things utilizes the side-loaders.
During the beginning of the nineteen fifties, Henry Le Grande Lull from the Lull Manufacturing Company originally made the sideloader forklift. These early units were requested from the US Air Force. The first concept was patented for commercial utilization but it was not made until Lull Manufacturing was taken over during the year 1959 by the Baker Raulang Company. It was Baker Raulang who made the design. Afterward, the name was changed to Baker Traveloader. During the latter part of the 1950s, the side-loaders were launched in Europe. The early models were made by Italian manufacturer Fiora and the afterwards B-P Battioni e Pagani who pioneered the machine's use within timber yards.
The side-loader is a little different from the counterbalanced forklift, since the traditional forward-traveling forklifts have front facing forks while the side-loader has side facing forks. The operator though will drive inside a cabin similar to those utilized in traditional forklifts. The lifting, loading, and unloading functions are done by the mast located at the right-hand side of the driver. The cargo is typically transported lying on a metal or wooden deck. This helps to decrease distortion, stress and damage to the cargo. New innovations to the side-loader design have integrated a large range of lifting accessories being developed.
