Doosan's forklift history
Korea’s initial home-based lift truck market was an open-import enterprise. In the 1960’s, Korea Machinery Co. Ltd. began to import assembled lift trucks as part of a nationwide machinery expansion project. Initial sales of this manufacturing equipment focused on large business communities, the armed forces and on state-run companies. This eventually led to a unification with Daewoo Heavy Industries Ltd. In 1976, the Forklift Division begun trade operations throughout Korea to service and sell this heavy equipment. By 1978, a forklift manufacturing plant was successfully completed. Continuous technical training became the new focus for improving quality and product development.
Propane forklift effectiveness is pretty remarkable since the cylinders containing propane could easily be replaced and the machine can get back to work without losing much "downtime". It is not like the electric lift truck where spare batteries should be bought to be utilized while the original battery could take up to 8 hours of cooling time and 8 hours of charging time depending on the unit.
Safety
As the propane lift truck has a sealed fuel system, it is much safer to operate than the other kinds of lift trucks available. The propane fuel cylinders themselves follow strict national code specialization and are sealed to guarantee optimum safety. Propane gas even functions with less energy as opposed to CNG gas, thus, if any accident takes place, there is a system where the fuel is shut off. This greatly minimizes the possible danger and destruction which can take place. Refilling options are also beneficial for the operator. If they will prefer to refuel elsewhere, the cylinders could be transported to a refilling centre. If the business chooses, the refilling can be accomplished on site instead.
